What is LGS?
LGS or Light Gauge Steel (sometimes referred to as "Light Steel") is a galvanized steel alloy which holds the same strength properties of steel while only being a fraction of the weight.
Benefits of LGS Construction
1. Lightweight and Durable
Steel is a durable, quality product given that it’s manufactured with a high tolerance of straightness and accuracy. By using steel, there is almost no chance of failure in construction or during transit and installation.
Until the advancement of LGS, standard steel has typically been a very heavy product and was only used in large-scale construction projects. LGS, however, offers the same accuracy and strength characteristics and standard steel, but at only a fraction of the weight.
LGS is also galvanized meaning that it will not rot or deteriorate ove time.
As a result of its strength advantages over wood framing, LGS allows for larger spacing between framing sections.

Due to the light-weight nature of LGS and its easy transportability, frames can be fabricated in a controlled, optimized factory setting which means that fabrication is faster and quality of fabrication is higher due to QA methods done in the factory.
On average, LGS construction can be 30% faster than traditional building methods.
4. Fire-proof
Since LGS is made of steel, it is 100% fireproof compared to other methods of construction.
It is also 100% termite proof which proves LGS as a complete solution for high-quality buildings
5. Dimensional stability
Given the strength and durability of steel, it won’t experience any bending or warping under extreme load as other materials are prone to.
